An update on the Linux Distros/Tools project
The Linux Distros/Tools project has recently been picking up steam. We have begun a number of new initiatives and are continuing to progress well on our goal of getting Eclipse technology into Linux distributions. An update on how we are working towards making it as seamless a transition as possible to move from Eclipse plugin to Linux distribution package will be given.
Also come to get an update on the progress of our tools for Linux developers including:
- an editor for Systemtap scripts
- profiling CDT binaries with valgrind tools
- profiling CDT binaries with OProfile
- an editor for RPM specfiles
With many Linux distributions making Eclipse technology available and with tools like these being created, it's a great time for Eclipse on Linux!
Andrew Overholt works for Red Hat as a part of their Tools group. He is the project lead for the Linux Tools project which is a part of the eclipse.org Technology top-level project.
This session is part of the curated collection of short talks titled
