For mass-producing software, Thales has developed a model-based software factory solution, based on a two-layer architecture. The lower layer is a factory tool for editing and executing software factory components. The upper layer gathers Factory Component portfolios that focus on production topics, such as the generation of a tool infrastructure. Thales has decided to promote this factory tool as an Eclipse component, named EGF (Eclipse Generation Factories). EGF is a proposed project under the EMFT project to provide a model-based generation framework. This short talk introduces EGF: principles + demo.
Benoit Langlois is software architect and project leader at Thales. He has 13+ years of experience in model-driven development in small- and large-scale projects. He always tries to improve software industrialisation and to share this value.

This session is part of the curated collection of short talks titled
"New Technology Projects"
