The EclipseLink project is the reference implementation of the JPA 2.0 (JSR 317) specification. This standards based functionality builds on the advanced object-relational features of the current EclipseLink release. This session will introduce the new features coming in JPA 2.0 as well as many of the important advanced capabilities of the EclipseLink implementations. Attendees will learn how these features can be leveraged within their Java EE, SE, OSGi, and Rich Client applications and gain practical advice on their usage of EclipseLink. The advanced JPA support available through the WTP's Dali project will also be highlighted.

Tom is a technical lead on the EclipseLink(Eclipse Persistence Services) project. He has over 8 years experience working on Java persistence focusing on EclipseLink and Oracle TopLink. He is a committer both on EclipseLink and on the Sun GlassFish project. Some current interests include persistence in OSGi, byte-code-weaving, and facilitating community involvement in EclipseLink. Previous speaking experience includes talks at JavaOne, EclipseCon, the Ottawa Oracle users group and regular participation in the Eclipse bootcamps.

Shaun Smith is a product manager for Oracle TopLink and an active member of the Eclipse community. He's Ecosystem Development Lead for the Eclipse Persistence Services Project (EclipseLink), a committer on the Eclipse EMFT Teneo,and Dali Java Persistence Tools projects.
