Steve Northover
Boris Bokowski
Many products have both a web and desktop presence. Despite the fact that there are obvious similarities, developing for the web and desktop typically involves different programming languages and user-interface metaphores.
This talk will explore the possibility of single sourcing web and desktop components using technology from the e4 project.
Steve Northover is a member of the Eclipse Project PMC, father of SWT and team lead for that component. His interests include programming languages, music, operating systems, optimization and user interfaces.
Boris Bokowski is a Software Developer with IBM Rational in Ottawa, Canada and a full-time Eclipse committer working on the Platform UI team and the new e4 project. He is part of the "API police" for the Eclipse Platform, and a member of the Eclipse Architecture Council. Boris is looking at the UI side of the RCP, and among other areas owns the JFace viewers component. He is also the main architect of the JFace data binding framework. He holds a PhD in computer science from Freie Universität Berlin, Germany.
