In order to be the next generation platform for pervasive, component-based applications and tools, Eclipse e4 needs to adapt to the many environments in which it will run. In this talk, we will highlight the limitations of Platform Resources today, and explain how e4 will address these: We will especially focus on the core concepts in resources, and dive into proposed API changes. After the talk, attendees will understand the big picture of e4 resources, how to apply it to their environments, and where it may be interesting for them to contribute.
Martin is the leader of the DSDP - Target Management project, PMC member, Platform core and e4 committer, and currently chair of the Eclipse Architecture Council. Driven by his desire for constant improvement, he is involved in many areas around Eclipse.
