The Eclipse Mobile Industry Working Group brings together Eclipse members who share an interest in Mobile Application Development. Eclipse is used as an IDE to create mobile Java, Native C/C++ and Web/Ajax based applications. The goal of this BOF is to bring SDK developers and users together to discuss ideas how Eclipse can help to increase the productivity of mobile application developers. We will start with a brief (15 minute) summary and overview of the work of the Mobile Industry working group. The rest of the BOF will be reserved for an open discussion. We especially welcome developers who have used mobile specific IDEs (Eclipse based or others) to share their feedback and suggestions about features they would like to see covered in the next release of a Eclipse Mobile Application Development Kit (MADK).

Christian Kurzke is the Architect for Motorola's Developer Tool suite, MOTODEV Studio.

Outside of Motorola, he is the lead of the Eclipse Mobile Tools for Java (MTJ) project and founding member of the Eclipse Mobile Industry Working Group.

Before Eclipse, Christian has been engaged in various other Open Source initiatives and has contributed to the Open Service Gateway initiative (OSGi) standard and CableLabs specifications.
He is a frequent speaker at conferences like JavaOne, Embedded Systems conferences and WWW conferences. Christian graduated from the University of Erlangen Germany with the degree of Diplom Informatik (MS CS) and holds an MBA degree from the Santa Clara University.
