In this session we will look at the many ways that eBay uses Eclipse to empower its developers to create the world’s most robust e-Commerce web applications. We will take a brief tour of eBay’s technology, including its evolution. We will see the critical role that Eclipse has taken in allowing eBay to create an ecosystem around its technology that not only allows eBay engineer to create highly scalable web applications, but also allows eBay to create a highly scalable development process. You'll see how eBay has leveraged many common Eclipse plugins and created many of its own to tailor Eclipse to its unique needs. This approach has been a huge win for eBay, but it can be applied to any software engineering organization. You’ll get an inside look at many of the custom Eclipse plugins that have been built at eBay and are used everyday by eBay engineers around the world.
