Program Committee
The EclipseCon 2009 program is being chosen by a "virtual" program committee
consisting of the program chair, Scott Rosenbaum (Innovent Solutions), and representatives from
major Eclipse projects and significant interest groups. The overall program is
apportioned into categories, with each project or interest group responsible for
recruiting and choosing content in its category of expertise.
The program chair is
responsible for the keynotes and the overall program layout. The program chair reserves the
right to refactor the allocations as necessary to create the best possible conference for the attendees.
Considerations...
The job of the PC is to put together a program that attracts and informs the attendees.
Lots of submissions in a category indicates a lot of interest in presenting on a particular
topic, not necessarily a lot of interest in hearing about a topic. ... In the end, the conference
is for the attendees, not the presenters. Thus the program committee will, in an effort to
create a balanced and exciting program, arrange for speakers to present on particular topics.
That is their job.
