This short talk will describe how we successfully developed the IDL Workbench, an Eclipse-based IDE. IDL (the Interactive Data Language) is a cross-platform scripting language used by scientists and engineers to analyze and visualize complex data. The IDL Workbench includes a command line, output console, code editor, integrated help, and code profiler and debugger.
