What are the top 10 reasons you need a PlayStation 3 at work? If you answered (1)Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock, (2)Resistance: Fall of Man, (3)Call of Duty 3, (4)Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, (5) Need for Speed: Carbon, etc, etc, etc, your boss will never approve the Purchase Req and you need to attend this session! This session is for anyone who wonders "What if" when faced with popular electronics and developing technologies. Learn what inspired the Ingres Engineering team to spearhead open innovation at work (and at play) with Eclipse, running the DTP with Ingres support on the PS3 (running Fedora Linux). One of the goals in demonstrating Ingres 2006 on a PS3 was to (seriously!) highlight how an open source product can be ported to any platform and that open source provides limitless opportunities for innovation. This discipline allows enterprises to refocus their own innovation resources where they have clear competitive advantages. The company’s IT and engineering teams are also able to (a) Clarify core innovation competencies, (b) Maximize the productivity of new product development without increasing R & D budgets, and (c) Increase the speed and quality of new product introductions. That’s our official story and we’re sticking to it - on the record, anyway. But there are nine other reasons why your office needs a PS3. Attend this interactive PS3 challenge, er, session, to get your story straight. “Request letter” templates for the boss are included.
