This talk will feature examples from Jazz that respect the Eclipse user interface (UI), yet take it to new levels. While the examples are from Jazz, the emphasis is on notions already provided in Eclipse and the thought processes any Eclipse development team could employ. Specific extensions will be discussed along with the design considerations we undertook. Examples include:

The intended audience for this talk is anyone who is developing or designing Eclipse-based user interfaces or has an interest in UI. There are no technical prerequisites.

Kimberley Peter is a visual designer with the IBM Toronto Media Design Studio. She leads the UI design for Jazz, contributes to the Eclipse UI Guidelines and its associated Best Practices work group, and co-leads a team of visual designers for IBM Rational Software products.
