Christian Dupuis

The Spring Framework and the associated Spring portfolio projects have emerged as the de-facto standard for enterprise Java development. The open source Spring IDE project provides integrated development tools for building Spring-powered enterprise applications on the Eclipse platform.

This talk will demonstrate the features of Spring IDE from a user perspective and highlight the integration with other Eclipse projects such as WTP, AJDT, and the popular Mylyn task-focused UI. Furthermore we will share our experience with extending the Eclipse Platform as well as outline what it takes to add custom extensions to Spring IDE by using its extension points. We will also explain the growing ecosystem around Spring IDE and the future roadmap for developing Spring-based applications on the Eclipse Platform.

Christian joined SpringSource, the company behind the popular Spring Framework, in 2008 as a Senior Software Engineer and is a member of the tools team based in Vancouver. Since 2004 Christian is the lead of the Spring IDE (http://springide.org) open source project that provides development tools for the Spring Portfolio.

He has been developing Java enterprise applications since 1997. During this time, Christian designed complex software architectures with a focus on multi-tiered, web-based, client-server applications using enterprise Java technologies and the Spring Framework.

Prior to joining SpringSource, Christian worked as consultant and project manager for one of the leading global technology consulting firms in the financial sector in central Europe.
