Note: This session will be reprised Thursday at 10:10am so if you miss it, be sure to catch it Thursday!

Reproducing and fixing 'non-reproducible' bugs during web application development, QA and production is a real challenge for developers. Complex environments with databases, web services, different browser versions and other app servers can make reproducing and fixing bugs tough.

What if you had a perfect recording of every bug that you could replay and debug, right in Eclipse?

'ReplayDIRECTOR for Java EE' is an Eclipse plug-in for web application developers. This web tool allows the execution of an application server like Tomcat or JBoss to be replayed, with code actually executing during replay. Developers can step through the code, set breakpoints, and pinpoint the root cause of any bug. Watch HTTP requests come in, servlets execute, database transactions, and HTML responses generated. All without requiring the database, browser or other web services to be running during replay. This talk will expand upon the brief introduction given during the short talk to discuss how the solution works, as well as demonstrate a powerful web tool that is changing the way web apps are developed, fixed and deployed.
