"ASCORE Communication Software" has been used in many projects in time; new communication media, new message sets, new application interfaces and new mail boxes required by those projects, have been implemented. The new features have been integrated by modifying the software, and new versions of the software having different set of features were built and deployed each time.
In the latest version of "ASCORE Communication Software", the software has been restructured and based on the OSGi service platform.Using the advantages of OSGi services, Service Registry and SOA principles; adding new communication media, new message sets, new application interfaces and new mail boxes become an easy/systematic process. Having this infrastructure, communication services can be restarted/updated without shutting down the system which is important for critical systems that should be operational all the time.
In this talk, I would like to present the success story of "ASCORE Communication Software" with OSGi and our experiences in migrating from a non-OSGi based software to an OSGi based software.Tankut Koray is a senior engineer in Aselsan Inc since 2002. He has been mainly working on command control systems and communication software. Also, he has been developing software for unmanned systems.
