EclipseCon Activities
We've added new activities to EclipseCon 2008! Most are happening right at the Santa Clara Convention Center: the
Jazz Developer Day, the BlackBerry Developer Day, the EclipseCon Hackathon
and the Cloudsmith BUG Mobile Gadget Hack. The others are nearby outdoor activities to help you enjoy the sunshine and balmy
California weather: the Golf Mini-Tournament and a fun run we're calling EclipseCon Exercise.
Jazz Developer Day
| Attendees at this IBM-sponsored, all-day event on Tuesday will learn about IBM's Eclipse-based
Jazz team platform and products, such as Rational Team Concert Express.
(Please register for the Jazz Developer Day.) |
 |
BlackBerry Developer Day
 |
All day on Wednesday, Research In Motion will offer in-depth technical sessions about the BlackBerry
Development Platform. (Please register for the BlackBerry Developer Day.) |
Hackathon
Sponsored by

Get your project team together and meet at the Hackathon. It's happening
all day on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Meet other teams and see
what they're up to, and exchange ideas in an informal atmosphere. There's no need to register, but please note that the Hackathon
is intended for project teams, not the general attendee base.
Golf Mini-Tournament
 |
Details will be emailed to people who registered (sorry, but registration is now closed).
Ralph Müeller is organizing the tournament for the morning of Sunday, March 16. |
EclipseCon Exercise
| A great way to get to know your fellow attendees! In the fine tradition of JAX Jogging, EclipseCon Exercise means
organized outdoor runs on nearby paved trails (here's the route information). Please register and organizer Darin Swanson will set up a schedule that allows
everyone to participate, and better enjoy the calorie extravagance of EclipseCon... all levels of running or coding ability welcome! |

Cloudsmith BUG Mobile Gadget Hack
Cloudsmith and BUG
Labs are sponsoring a hackathon
Tuesday and Wednesday in the Cloudsmith Power-Up Lounge,
complete with prizes. The BUG is a set of modules from
BUG Labs you snap together to build your own mobile device (the "Lego of
gadgets," according to CNET!) Apps
are built using the Eclipse-based Dragonfly SDK. The two developers who build
the coolest BUG apps by the end of Wednesday using Cloudsmith's Dragonfly
distro get to walk home with their very own BUGs! So stop by, hang
around the Cloudsmith Power-Up Lounge and engage in a little friendly
competition!
