Do you have a custom or legacy data source that you would need to access in a business application such as a Business Intelligence system? Are you an application tool vendor that constantly faces your customers demand to support heterogeneous types of data sources, including custom data repository? The Eclipse Data Tools Platform project (http://www.eclipse.org/datatools) delivers the Open Data Access (ODA) framework, a proven solution to address these requirements. ODA is one of the key components integrated by the Eclipse BIRT project (http://www.eclipse.org/birt) for heterogeneous data retrieval. Data providers can plug in an ODA-compliant data source driver to access any data repository. Both DTP and BIRT deliver out-of-the-box ODA drivers to access common data sources, such as XML, Web services, CSV files, and JDBC. Come join this presentation to learn more about ODA, and how your application may use and benefit from it.
