The Standard Widget Toolkit (SWT) is the toolkit that drives the entire GUI of Eclipse. It's designed to provide efficient, portable access to the user-interface facilities of the operating systems on which it is implemented.

In this short talk, Benjamin will give a brief overview of the added widgets (e.g. the Calendar-Widget) and the progress of porting the entire toolkit to Windows Vista. Other topics will be covered based on the progress in SWT 3.3 until March.

Benjamin Pasero is the developer of the opensource newsreader RSSOwl. He is well experienced in the Eclipse Rich Client Platform with a focus on SWT and JFace and has written a number of articles on this topic, as well as giving workshops at conferences. Benjamin can be reached via e-mail to bpasero {_at_} rssowl.org.
