The Eclipse Linux Distros Project has recently been approved as an eclipse.org project. This project has two main areas of focus: (1) integrating the Eclipse SDK and periphery features/plugin sets into the traditional GNU/Linux environment and (2) creating a series of plugins to bring the power of the Eclipse IDE to GNU/Linux programming tasks. This short talk will provide a brief history of our efforts, give an overview of our current work and discuss potential future work.

Ben is a Free and Open Source Software enthusiast. He currently works for Red Hat, integrating Eclipse into Fedora and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
