Enterprise Team Development with Maven and Eclipse

Enterprise Team Development with Maven and Eclipse

Maven is a popular software project management and build tool. This introductory talk is an "up and running guide" to iterative team development using Eclipse combined with project management and continuous integration via Maven.

Topics covered include:
  • A brief overview of Maven
  • Setting up the workspace, project structure, SCM (including what to check in) and preferences
  • Mapping Eclipse project dependencies, and library references to Maven build artifacts
  • Ant / Maven integration
  • Working with repositories
  • A survey of some of the Eclipse plugins that can be used with Maven

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to do iterative development of a Java Enterprise application with Eclipse in a team development environment, combined with continuous integration with Maven.

Bob Fraser is a senior product manager at BEA Systems responsible for the development of the Eclipse-based Workshop product family. He is active in the Eclipse community as a member of the requirements council and chair of the User Interface Best Practices Working Group.
