it is not enough to bring out strength of Rich Client just with it, because it has no feature of connecting to server resources such like database, servlet or Web services. So the developer interrupted by nonessential tasks to consider carefully these unoffered architecture and program code. To eliminate such onerous task, we have developed Eclipse plugin to develop easily the application based suited architecture for C/S type RCP application to correspond with server database.

This plugin named JALCEDO is opened on Sourceforgen.net as OSS with EPL.

JALCEDO has 3 steps to build user application,

JALCEDO can generate automatically the scaffolding code of server and client application by using the domain model based on POJO. This auto-generated application has capabilities of CRUD view and business logic to persist database on server. Then all remaining task for developing user application is only writing user own business logic and views. The generated application architecture has Java Persistence API, web service with WSDL file and SOAP connectivity, JAX-WS on Http and eclipse RCP and JFaceDataBinding.

At this short talk I will introduce features and architecture of JALCEDO and show what capabilities would be provided for building Rich Client/Server Application easily. To get more information of JALCEDO, please see our web page. http://jalcedo2.sourceforge.net/
