Java has a long history of introducing novel language features that are highly accessible to programmers. Although Java SE 6 brought no language changes, we expect Java SE 7 to introduce several new features that aim to ease development and extend the language's reach. At EclipseCon, we hope to present an overview of these features and take questions from the audience on them. (The speakers are responsible for the Java Language Specification and javac.)

Alex Buckley is responsible for the Java Language and Virtual Machine Specifications at Sun. He sits on the planning committee for the Java language and is co-spec lead for JSR 294 (Superpackages). http://blogs.sun.com/abuckley
