Sprint has anounced at its 2006 Sprint Developers Conference that it will be
specifying Java/OSGi as the next generation development environment for CDMA
EVDO rev A devices coming to market in 2008. Sprint and Nokia have also
announced that they are working together on the Middleware and Applications
Platform for 4G WiMAX coming out from Sprint in 2008. This short talk will
present the business opportunity for the Eclipse and OSGi community in this
new environment. The talk will also present a short review of the end to end
architecture including the plans for eSWT and eRCP in the exciting new devices.
