Martin Oberhuber
Here is a track that includes all sessions submitted under Mobile / Embedded,
plus some other stuff that I found interesting:
Did you know that EclipseCon starts on
Sunday already for those
interested? - I'm going to join the
Committer and Project Boot Camp since it covers lots of
interesting things even for existing committers.
I'm going to start
Tutorial Day with the DSDP tutorials: session
3588, and
(3611) The Two Faces of MTJ. Then I'm presenting my own tutorial:
(3651) Building Tools on the Target Management RSE Framework and
finish the day with
(3664) UI Forms: I can't believe it's not browser.
On
Tuesday, I'll start with
C++ GUI Builder for Mobile or Embedded devices before I dive into a
series of Short Talks - the ones I'm really interested in being
Eclipse Pluginfest 2007 - Lessons Learned (I
was there!),
IPZilla Best Practices - How to speed up review (good to know as a project lead!),
Eclipse Linux Distros Project Overview,
Using Buckminster for Automated Provisioning of Developer Workspaces (relevant for the new Common Build Infrastructure),
Mylar, XPlanner and Scrum,
and
Third Party Code - Licenses that work and those that don't/Does dual-licensing help?.
On the next slot, I'm torn: both the panel,
Why Eclipse meets the needs of the Embedded Development Lifecycle and the long talk,
Service Oriented Device Architecture (SODA), are interesting before I continue with
eRCP - Ready for prime time! and
Dynamic Languages Toolkit. In the evening, the BOF -
Device Software Development Platform (DSDP) TM, DD, NAB, TmL BoF is a must to meet friends
and new faces.
On
Wednesday, I'll start with
Assembling your open C and C++ workbench before another series
of Short Talks, of which I'm particularly looking forward to
Managing SymbianOS embedded devices using DSDP-TM,
Clean Up your Java code, and
Tools for Mobile Linux Project: Extending Eclipse into Linux Mobile Devices. The Subversive Talk,
Inside Subversive - The Subversion Team Provider, sort of comes
for free with these.
Wednesday afternoon has
Creating an IP-XACT editor to support the use of IP-XACT for Embedded Debug and
Profiling Mobile and Embedded Java Applications in Eclipse IDE as Long Talks from the
Embedded track with, before I join the
Model-driven embedded device solution development with Eclipse demo which I'll find
interesting because it brings together Modeling and Embedded. After that, I'm
going to do my own short talk,
Target Management: Embedded to Enterprise, which is in the same room as
The eRCP Test Harness and the advantages of On-Device testing and
Multi-platform development with CDT just a little bit later. After that, I hope I'll
not be too sleepy for the
C/C++ Development Tools (CDT) Project Meeting in the evening.
On
Thursday, I'll start with another Demo:
Embedded sytems debugging and profiling using CDT and TPTP-based environment before one
of my favorites:
Prototyping, Automating, Exploring - Interactively Scripting Eclipse - I've always loved to do scripting. On the next
slot, the Short talks
Device Debugging (DD) Project Update and
Developing in Java ME are interesting and
embedded, but I'll also want to see
Putting your Build to the Test: Automated JUnit and Performance Testing the Eclipse Way since it's an important part of
our build infrastructure. And then there's a nice roundup bringing us back into
real life:
Solving Real-World Problems with TPTP Static Analysis - what could be better than knowing how to solve
real-world problems when one can't believe that EclipseCon is over again?
