The Eclipse Community Awards are to recognize and thank the individuals and technologies that make Eclipse such a vibrant robust community. This page is for voting on the Individual Awards.

First, The Voting Is Over

Second, How Voting Worked

You were entitled to vote in one of two different elections: either as a Committer or as a Community member. Obviously you needed to be an Eclipse Committer to vote as a Committer. We asked for your name and other identifying information in order to validate your membership in either group. (You were allowed to vote as many times as you wanted, but only the last vote counted.)

Third, Top Ambassador

The Top Ambassador award recognizes an individual (committer or non-committer) who best promotes cross project interactions and building a collaborative Eclipse developer community. This award recognizes an individual who works between projects or between ecosystem companies; the other two awards (Top Contributor and Top Committer) are about flow into and flow out of - this award is about flow between/across. Across projects, across user groups, across plug-in developers, etc.

Fourth, Top Contributor

The Top Contributor award recognizes an individual (non-committer) who has made substantial contribution to the Eclipse community. This award recognizes an individual whose contributions flow into Eclipse projects. (This award can also apply to a part-time committer who has made substantial contributions in a non-committer role, i.e., a part-time committer on Project A who has contributed heavily outside of Project A.)
