Call For Participation

There are many ways to participate in EclipseCon 2006. The easiest way is to register and then show up in Santa Clara, attend sessions, converse with colleagues, and use the hallways and lunch tables to both learn and teach about Eclipse.

The conference program is chosen, but there are still opportunities for you to provide content. You can enter a Recommended Track for your colleagues to consider; you can sponsor a BOF at the conference itself; and, of course, you can invite your new conference acquaintences to the bar for a beer and discussion.

Open and Transparent

In all cases, the presentation materials (PDFs of the slide decks, etc) will be available on the EclipseCon 2006 website in advance. Thus the reason for attending a presentation is to hear what the speaker has to say, not to hear him or her read the slides. Providing the materials in advance has a number of advantages:

• It's a better advertisement for the presentation than any short abstract could be.
• It allows people to follow along and make notes on their tablets.
• It allows the audience to self-select and thus the presenter can get to "the good stuff" quickly.
