Special Activities

Birds-of-a-Feather Sessions (BoFs)
Join a BoF at EclipseCon! Birds of a Feather are informal meetings where you can share ideas, present and discuss specialized areas with others in the Eclipse community. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, get together with your colleagues who have an interest in your special topic area! We'll have sign up sheets on-site and rooms will be allocated based on the number of signups by 5:00 pm each day. BoFs run from 8:00pm-9:30pm and 9:30pm-11:00pm each day. If you'd like to lead a BoF at EclipseCon, visit the registration desk or the BoF sign up board.

Eclipse Code Clinic
Bring your code and share some time with fellow Eclipse developers! The Code Clinic room will be available on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00am -11:00pm and on Thursday from 9:00am-4:00pm. We'll have a poster outside the room where you can let others know when your project developers will be available at the Clinic. Or, just drop by with your laptop after the receptions (7:30pm - 11:00pm) on Tuesday and Wednesday and jam with fellow members of the community in the Code Clinic Open Session!

Eclipse Demo Bazaar
Sometimes its great to get a walk through a project or product that's new to you. And, its great to be able to share a project or product demo with people who are interested! That's why we're setting up a virtual tent for the Demo Bazaar. We'll post a schedule where you can sign up for a time to demo. The Bazaar will be open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00am-11:00pm and on Thursday from 9:00am-4:00pm. To demo, all you'll need is a timeslot and your laptop - be sure to sign up early so EclipseCon participants can plan to attend your demo!

Lunch-time Table Topics
Have you ever attended a conference and had a hard time meeting people interested in your favorite topics? Well, we have, so at EclipseCon we've added lunch-time Table Topics. Each lunch table will have a small sign listing a topic. Just find a table with a topic that interests you and, voila!, you'll be sitting with a group of like minded people. Some of them will be experts, some will be novices, but all will be interested in that same topic so strike up a conversation and enjoy the food and the company.

Passport to Eclipse Game
An important part of Eclipse is the ecosystem of commercial vendors that are building Eclipse based product. Here is your opportunity to learn more about the solutions from some of these vendors and win FREE stuff at the same time. You'll find a passport in your conference bag and all you have to do is visit the booth of each vendor listed in the passport. Take the opportunity to learn about their products and they will also stamp your passport. Once the passport is complete, fill out your name and contact info and drop it off in the bin in the exhibit hall and get ready to win free stuff. On Tuesday and Wednesday, two prizes will be drawn: 1) a $1000 gift certificate for Amazon, and 2)the Eclipse Book Series set from Addison Wesley.

Project Sprints - Monday, February 28th - 18:00 - 23:00
On Monday evening you'll have the opportunity join a Project Sprint. The EclipseCon Sprints are designed to give teams a chance to introduce their projects to developers, share code, problems, solutions and ideas. These events are open to any developer who is interested in contributing to a specific project. You can sign up for the Sprints on Monday on the BoF sign up board.

Contributor Sprints - Monday, February 28th - 18:00 - 23:00
Contributor Sprints are EclipseCon's way of giving the contributors and committers from Project Teams an opportunity to work together face to face. EclipseCon brings together more Eclipse Committers and Contributors than any other event and although the week is busy, as a Committer or Contributor, we hope you won't miss the chance to interact with your fellow developers. These events are open to Contributors and Committers only - so if you're not sure if you should attend, please ask one of the committers on the project. You can find out where to meet on Monday on the BoF sign up board.
