BEA provided insights into its new project, and we learned that Eclipse is really going to Mars. And, a wind up panel of the Eclipse PMC set us all on the right track to go back and apply what we've learned this week! Thank you to the sponsors, speakers, organizers and especially to the participants for making EclipseCon 2005 an overwhelming success!

EclipseCon was buzzing Wednesday with announcements from the community including Borland and Computer Associates joining the Eclipse Foundation as Strategic Developers. We did some technology exploration this morning with Urs Hoezle of Google, getting the bird's eye view of solving hard technical problems. Highlights of the technical program included a talk by Borland on the future of the IDE, and from the Platform team, the very latest developments in RCP and SWT. The Poster Reception again was a great hit, followed by the Sybase reception where we learned more about the new Data Tools project.
